Our store was established in 1985 by the current owners' sister. She had her third child in her 40's. Her other two children were 19, and 17. Knowing how fast kids grow, & that her third child would be her last, she didn't want to go and buy all of her baby equipment, maternity clothes, and baby clothes new. She started going to garage sales and looking for things in the classifieds. She found it frustrating trying to find what she needed in the right size and season, and though, "Wouldn't it be nice to have a store where you could go and find quality used items all in one location?" And thus, The Children's Exchange was born. It has always been a locally owned and operated family business. Buying and selling quality infant thru teen clothing, maternity cloths, toys, childrens books, movies, and baby equipment.
